Organize and locate your files the right way with this tip of the week
Tip: Rename a whole batch of files
Finding files on your Mac can sure be annoying, especially if you have thousands of them and most of them have no name. In the past, you had to download third party software in order to highlight a batch of files and rename them. But now, Mac OS X Yosemite and above gives you the ability to rename a whole batch of files right from your Finder.
1. Open Finder.
2. Highlight the files you want to rename (Shift + Click).
3. Right click on selected files (or Control + Click).
4. Select “rename items.”
5. Rename items by selecting an option in the drop-down menu:
6. Click “Rename” to save.
7. Repeat as necessary.
